* Rungrez ambitiously launches lawn brand with the idea to bring forth brighter hues and pastel colours as the ideal palette for women's wardrobe
Lawn designers seem to have taken a diverse direction by indulging in bold and sharp colours as their main palette for this season's spring/summer 2015 collection. Without a doubt, this would not be the first year, we get to see dark and jumpy colours, but considering the soaring temperatures of the city, come May and June, and the tiring affect dark shades have on us for that matter, it's common knowledge a major chunk of women would prefer lighter shades and a cooler colour palette for their summer wardrobe.
Keeping that in mind, debuting lawn brand Rungrez brings to us ladies, a 16-design unstitched spring/summer 2015 collection that mainly features bright colours and pastel shades as their colour palette. With the gorgeous Meera Ansari as their official model for their lawn shoot, Rungrez hit the Lahore market on Friday. Their premium quality lawn is also available in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Deena, Abbotabad, Faisalabad and Karachi.
"I specifically instructed my design team about stressing on very light colours, mostly shades of yellow, pink, green and light blue. Hardly two designs would be based in a comparatively darker colours. We see so much of the sun the majority of the months, all one wants to wear is something, which would make them feel cool and stylish. Our focus is on refreshing colours; colours of the spring season," Haroon Ahmad of Rungrez, said while talking exclusively to Daily Times. With a launch ceremony held on Thursday in Lahore, organised and arranged by Bilal Mukhtar of Bilal Mukhtar Events & PR, Rungrez lawn was seen being sold like hot cakes, with some going gaga over the lime yellow design with white embroidery. The design was sold out in less than two hours.
There is a playful touch and an innocence about some of the designs, that makes one feel young, fresh and ready for the summer. There are paisleys, square necklines, florals, leopard embroidery and soft digital prints with chiffon and silk dupattas. Laced borders for trouser pants, sleeves and shirt borders are given as add ons. Comparatively cheaper than most lawns, the price range begins from Rs 5,600 onwards. With a lack of subtlety in designing, as for some the prints involve 'too much happening already', Rungrez lawn might take its time to grow on the lawn buyers. Having said that, I would recommend the ladies to check it out for its butterfly shades. Available in Saleem Fabrics and Traditions in Lahore, Rungrez stands shoulder to shoulder with the rest of the lawn brands.
